Renting Toys?

With 6 kids you can just guess that we are drowning in toys. Someone recently pointed out this site to me where you can actually rent toys. The concept is similar to services like Netflix, only you are renting a package of toys. You are allowed to borrow 4 to 6 toys at a time and shipping is included. The toys are sanitized after each use.

What do you think? Would you consider borrowing toys for your kids?

I say no only because my kids will probably lose or break them. Just like they do the nerflix movies we get. I could see it working for someone with less children than me though.

PS missed your blog while you went MIA there for awhile!

I would love a service such as a toy library. I'm so glad that you posted a link to this one. I don't know if it'll meet our needs, but it's definitely something to check out.

There are some toys like blocks which are "standards" which one should have on hand. There are others, though, whose use is more ephemeral or are just not the kind of thing wants to purchase.

Oh, choke. I had a look at the monthly rates on babyplays.com; they range from $36.99 to $64.99.

I'm sure this isn't excessive from their point of view, considering that they pick up shipping costs, have to purchase and disinfect toys and are trying to make a profit. However, from my point of view it is a bit much.
