With Easter only a day away I can hardly hide my excitement, not my addiction, that's right - I am admitting it! I am a Peepaholic! Ever since I was a small child I have craved the sugar coated marshmallows that would find themselves planted in my Easter Basket. And I know that I am not the only Peep fan out there, but who would have guessed that there was actually a science to Peeps?
And who would have guessed that there are actually people who gather statistics as to how many Peeps are sold each year (over a billion are sold between Feb 15th and Easter if you were wondering)?
And the makers of Peeps have even surveyed other Peep aficionados to see HOW they eat their peeps: Just Born's recent research, the 2006 State of Marshmallow Peeps found the most popular way to eat Peeps is fresh from the box (26.5 percent), followed by biting the Peeps' heads first (17.2 percent), stale or matured (8.5 percent), swallowing Peeps whole (7.8 percent), licking off the sugary coating (3.1 percent) and lastly, frozen (3.0 percent).
How many Peep fans do we have here?

Believe it or not, I have never eaten one of those in my LIFE. I am not a fan of marshmallow (unless its roasted) and I hate having sweet stuff stuck in my teeth!
And believe it or not, i have never heard of them!!
Happy Easter!
Peeps are pretty good but I really love jelly beans...
Now my Mom is a Peep's Fan big time!!!
i cannot stand peeps!!! They are not yummy, give me chocolate any day of the week. :) MY FIL loves them and stocks up on them during Easter season so he has them all year.
I am, but didn't get any in my basket this year :(
Peeps, in my humble opinion, are an acquired taste that I have never ad the desire to acquire. The husband of a friend, however, will literally body slam anyone caught even considering looking at his peeps. He hoards them. He steals them from his grandchildren's baskets and then convinces them that they either 1. never got any to begin with or 2. already ate the ones the did get. I have witnessed him actually pay for his grandchildren's peeps when he can't manage to just swipe them!
I mentioned once that they might taste good roasted (YAY Kristi! another roasting fan!) and the look of horror on that man's face was priceless. LOL! Now that's a peepaholic!
Surely you aren't that bad, are you, Kelly?
ME--ME--ME!!! I LOVE almost all things Peeps! But MOST of all I love to EAT them! I MUST admit that I buy them for myself when they FIRST come out on the shelves--I cannot WAIT until Easter! I will NOT eat the Xmas, Halloween or other flavors; it just seems WRONG! I love them best FRESH-mmmmm!!! I think I like blue best.
I faithfully put them in my kids' baskets for at least 25 years before 2 of my 3 announced that they NEVER liked Peeps!! IMAGINE, all those years they didn't want to "hurt my feelings":heck,I could have EATEN all of their Peeps, had I known!
This year I goaded my g'son into putting one in the micro: very entertaining AND smelled like ROASTED MARSHMALLOWS!
